The Dogs and Cats Walkway and Sculpture Gardens had it’s soft opening to the public on December 3, 2022 to coincide with Art Basel and has already been visited by thousands of people from all around the world. Located at Maurice A, Ferré Park, in Downtown, Miami, this outdoor art installation is a free and permanent exhibit featuring 52 oversized aluminum sculptures of 26 dogs and 26 cats painted by local artists, and intended to portray the special role pets play in our lives.
The OFFICIAL GRAND OPENING will be on February 11, 2023 at 2PM. While the exhibit has not been officially inaugurated yet, as it is undergoing the last phase where we will be Installing the interactive/educational component. The exhibit will feature QR codes on every sculpture so visitors can scan each piece to learn more about each animal’s breed with a short video introducing the artist and the inspiration behind every design. This breakthrough exhibit is not only intended to educate children and adults about the various breeds of dogs and cats, but also seeks to raise awareness about animal respect and protection. As the components are being installed, the promenade will continue to be open to the public.
